Early autumn is a particularly engaging time to be an MGC Diagnostics (MGCD) client. Among the other exciting opportunities it provides, fall is when the educational and informational conferences ramp up. With October comes the arrival of the Cardiorespiratory Diagnostics Seminar (October 7-9, 2013 in Las Vegas) and the Pulmonary Function and Exercise Testing Symposium (October 10-11, 2013 in Newport, CA).
MGCD has been hosting its Cardiorespiratory Diagnostics Seminar for nearly two decades. Approximately 125 respiratory therapists, pulmonary function technologists/technicians and physicians attend the annual event, for which they can earn 23 accredited CME hours through the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
This year, for the first time, MGCD will sponsor the 19th Annual UCLA Symposium Pulmonary Function and Exercise Testing - Practical Approaches for the Healthcare Practitioner, as an expansion of its efforts to advance and support the academic needs of cardiorespiratory clinicians. The seminar is aimed towards physicians and allied healthcare personnel in the fields of respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, sports medicine, laboratory management and patient testing. The seminar features a panel of experts led by Christopher Cooper, MD, professor of Medicine and Physiology, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine.
Todd Austin, Executive Vice President–Global Marketing, Engineering and Corporate Strategy, says MGCD recognizes the importance of providing quality continuing education. “It is our privilege to have many opportunities to ‘give back’ to the academic community we proudly serve,” he says. “With our long-standing relationships, we also provide customers access to expert faculty and educational venues: assuring the best value especially when many institutions face the difficult challenges of today’s market.”
