SpiroAir volumetric pulmonary function testing system

Dry rolling seal spirometer

Contact a Sales Rep

The SpiroAir is a complete and modular pulmonary function system with the most reliable and accurate transducer on the marketplace: a dry rolling seal spirometer. This makes the system an excellent choice for standard PFT test but also for specific research needs or pediatric purpose.

  • 12-liters spirometer with a true volume displacement horizontal dry rolling seal is by design temperature stable, easily maintained and cleaned.
  • Complete basic spirometry measurement, by either lily pneumotachograph or volume displacement spirometer with Forced Vital Capacity, Slow Vital Capacity, Maximum Voluntary Ventilation and Minute Tidal Ventilation reversibility and bronchial provocation testing software.
  • Absolute static lung volumes measurement (FRC, VC, IC, ERV, RV and TLC) using Helium dilution technique in a closed circuit with constant volume, CO2 absorption replaced by O2 compensation, complete gas mixing with circulating fans the device is calibrated in Litres FRC directly.
  • Integrated weather station (temperature and barometric pressure) for BTPS correction of the volume.
  • Low cost of operation and low maintenance.
  • Compact system with cart or table-top configurations.
  • Expair software suite with complete operator and patient guide included.

The SpiroAir can be combined with the following devices:

  • Micro 5000 spirometer
  • Micro 6000 spirometer
  • BodyBox plethysmograph
  • HypAir pulmonary function testing system
  • Ergocard CPX exercise testing system
  • FeNO+
  • Resmon PRO FULL V3 forced oscillation technique

Beside spirometry and lung volumes measurement by Helium dilution, several options can be added in the SpiroAir to have a full pulmonary function testing equipment in your lab.

Lung diffusion capacity:

The SpiroAir offers 3 possibilities of lung diffusion capacity measurement (DLCO):

  • Traditional Single breath DLCO with Helium tracer gas, using exhalation bag.
  • Single breath double diffusion of CO and NO (DLCO-NO) with Helium tracer gas, allowing measurement of membrane diffusion (Dm) and capillary blood volume (Vc).
  • Rebreathing DLCO with Helium tracer gas, using rebreathing bag.

For single breath technique, you can choose the method to inhale the mixture:

  • the fastest and most economical: through a demand valve.
  • the most physiological, especially for patient with less cooperation: through an inhalation bag.

Bronchoprovocation and Special Resistance Testing:

  • Provo 4 Provocation System: automated, software controlled, accurate and safe bronchial provocation testing.
  • RINT: resistance measurement using flow interruption technique. Ideal for children.
  • NEP (negative expiratory pressure): alternative method to detect and quantify expiratory flow limitation, which does not require performance of forced expiratory efforts nor a body plethysmography test.

Respiratory Mechanics Testing:

  • MIP – MEP (maximum inspiratory and maximum expiratory pressure): indicator of respiratory muscle strength.
  • SNIP: maximal nasal inspiratory pressure using a nasal cannula. A non-invasive indicator of diaphragmatic muscle fatigue.
  • P0.1: inspiratory occlusion pressure at 0.1 seconds, for respiratory muscle drive evaluation.
  • Static and dynamic compliance and resistance: measured by intra-esophageal balloon catheters.
