The FSRC and MGC Diagnostics Join Forces for Lung Health

01/14/2015

The 2015 Florida Society for Respiratory Care (FSRC) Sunshine Seminar, being held in Daytona Beach, Florida on March 5th-6th, will include a special opportunity for those practitioners who have an interest in advancing their knowledge and skills in the area of pulmonary diagnostics testing.  The FSRC and MGC Diagnostics have partnered to offer a rare, optional PFT educational program taking place on Saturday, March 7th, following the FSRC Sunshine Seminar.

This special event will provide 6 AARC approved CEUs acceptable toward the PFT credential renewal requirement, as well as an opportunity for all respiratory care practitioners to advance their knowledge and skills in the area of pulmonary diagnostics testing.  Specific topics will include current testing techniques, performance standards, quality assurance procedures and clinical applications for cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing.

When asked how the idea for partnering with FSRC transpired, Lisa Knepper, Education and Training Manager at MGC Diagnostics said, “We are committed to advancing the knowledge of those in the pulmonary diagnostics field. We’ve been looking for ways to reach more therapists at regional events. The FSRC is known for providing excellent educational opportunities for its members and pulmonary diagnostics is an area we both feel is underserved for staffs that perform this type of testing.”

The program is open to anyone and provides a great opportunity for those experienced technicians or those who have never worked in a pulmonary lab to be able to expand their knowledge in this area of diagnostics.
