Primary Purpose
MGC Diagnostics is seeking a positive, inquisitive HR Generalist, to join our collaborative team providing both company and employee support. The ideal candidate will have a high level of integrity and will be proactive and have experience handling a variety of human resources tasks. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, must possess excellent attention to detail, is able to work independently but remains open to guidance and growth within the Human Resource area. Someone who enjoys going home knowing they put their best foot forward and made a difference by supporting the company and its staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job effectively, the successful candidate is expected to demonstrate ownership and take accountability for tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Enters and maintains accurate employe information in ADP.
- Instrumental in updating job descriptions, org charts, and employee directories.
- Assists with updating HR materials, including trainings and safety documents, and leading safety initiatives company-wide.
- Initiates background checks, pre-employment drug screens, and employee eligibility verifications.
- Responsible for onboarding and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including benefits, leave, productivity, recognition, and workers compensation.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers; referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Collaborates with Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely transfer of employee data for payroll processing.
- Coordinates offboarding and exit interview surveys.
- Handles unemployment claims.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- A minimum of 2 years’ of human resource experience.
- Must be committed to working onsite in Vadnais Heights.
- Minimal travel required.
Working Conditions or Physical Requirements
Will be required to regularly sit for extended periods of time; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear and see. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured and requires accuracy. Will be required to regularly multi-task between projects, move throughout the office building and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open office setting with some areas that may be louder at times.
