Overview

Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) is present in everyone’s lungs, regardless of if they have asthma or not. Nitric oxide levels increase when inflammation levels increase in allergic asthma. If a patient is compliant with their daily asthma controller medication (aka- inhaled corticosteroids, ICS) their FeNO levels will decrease. Asthma patients cannot feel airway inflammation so monitoring FeNO levels with the Fenom Pro™ can help effectively manage asthma and help them understand their potential risk for an asthma attack (exacerbation).
